Event in Celebration of HKSAR 20th anniversary
Art project “Tian Tian Xiang Shang” cum workshops
July 28 - August 21, 2017
Venue: Raffles City, Singapore

“Tian Tian Xiang Shang” is a well-known Chinese saying encouraging children to work hard and achieve their dreams. It then inspired experimental art pioneer and founder of Zuni Icosahedron, Mr Danny Yung, to create Tian Tian, a cartoon, for adults and kids all around the globe, challenging them to be curious and creative like Tian Tian. Tian Tian looks up, points to the things he sees, and asks questions: Is this my question or the future? Link: www.zixag.com/en/project/ttxs/.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary establishment of the HKSAR, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Singapore, in collaboration with Zuni Icosahedron, showcased conceptual comics “Tian Tian Xiang Shang” in Singapore in form of mall museum in public areas inside and nearby the Raffles City, Singapore from July 28 to August 21, 2017. The Opening Reception, held on July 28 at Raffles City, Singapore was warmly welcomed by leading figures in the arts and cultural scene from Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as local celebrities and communities across Hong Kong and Singapore.

Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Singapore, Mr Bruno Luk, said that "Tian Tian Xiang Shang" is an open communication platform bringing together collective creativity and promote multi-cultures. The exhibition in Singapore has featured some 1,000 pieces of works from friends in Singapore, not just artists but also students and teachers of local arts classes, primary and secondary schools. Mr Luk added that public engagement is one of the key elements of all of our 20th anniversary celebration activities and that it is good to see the participation of so many young people in Singapore in the exhibition.
