Gala Dinner in Celebration of the 15th Anniversary of the
Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Celebrating the anniversary with voices of Hong Kong artists and a tantalizing preview of the upcoming Hong Kong Arts Festival (HKAF) For the first time the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (ASEAN) collaborates with HKAF in featuring highlights from the programme of the 41st HKAF 2013. Look out for the highly gifted Alan Tsang and Sanders Lau from Die Konzertisten - one of the foremost chamber choirs in Hong Kong – in arias and songs by Verdi and Britten, composers whose respective bicentenary and centenary will be marked by special performances at the HKAF 2013, as well as an aria by Italian composer Cimarosa whose rarely heard Il Marito Disperato will also be staged. Equally amazing is veteran Cantonese opera singers Candy Tang and Li Pui Yan in one of Tong Tik Sang's classics, "Returning the Zither" from Reincarnation of Lady Plum Blossom (再世紅梅記). Tong's Reincarnation of Lady Plum Blossom will be performed at the HKAF 2013 as a highlight from "In Yau Ma Tei - A Legacy of Cantonese Opera", the festival’s first project with the newly refurbished Yau Ma Tei Theatre which was just inaugurated this year as a hub of Cantonese Opera productions. |
