Hong Kong Story Youth Competition - in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the
establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region

April 4 to 30, 2022

Background
As Hong Kong Special Administrative Region celebrates the 25th anniversary of its establishment with a broad range of activities under the theme of “A New Era – Stability, Prosperity, Opportunity”, we invite you to tell your “Hong Kong Story” showing your affection of this city in a four-frame collage, with inspirations obtained from the Hong Kong: Through the Looking Glass miniature exhibition. The exhibition brings Hong Kong's past and present to life by 40 exquisite handmade miniature models, which showcases diversified facets of Hong Kong's life, from food culture, traditional festivals to architectures and intangible heritage, as well as a new era of opportunities arising from Hong Kong's further integration into the national development through its unique strengths under “One Country, Two Systems”.

Target
- Participants must be living in Singapore, possessing a valid National Registration Identification Card (NRIC) or Foreign Identification Number (FIN)
- Aged 18 - 30

*Winners are required to present documentary proof to show their dates of birth conform to the age requirement of 18 to 30 on April 30, 2022 (submission deadline) when getting the prizes

What you need to submit
Each submission should come in the format of a four-frame collage. The exterior frame of collage must be square in shape.

A “frame” can be a photo, a sketch, or an artistic rendition based on a photo/sketch. The photo/sketch must be taken at the Hong Kong: Through the Looking Glass miniature exhibition.

The four-frame collage should be weaved to tell a Hong Kong story, to show your affection of this city.

Each submission should carry a title no more than 20 words, and an explanatory description of the creative concept no more than 100 words, either in Chinese or English.

The four-frame collage should have a minimum of 12 million pixels and the file size should not exceed 2 MB.

How to enter the competition

1. Follow the Instagram (IG) account of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore (HKETO)

2. In the left bottom corner of your four-frame collage, please add a watermark to indicate your full name and date of publication on IG‘s open platform. This better helps us identify your ownership. *Watermark can be added by free photo-editing apps such as PhotoGrid and Auto Stamper that can be downloaded via App Store or Play Store.*

3. Post on your IG account, in an open mode, tagging HKETO @hketosg, also adding a hashtag #minihkstory25A. An example is shown below:

4. Inbox us (@hketosg) two screen captures, respectively showing:
a. Your IG account is following HKETO's IG account
b. Your four-frame collage is published in open mode on your IG platform, showing clearly underneath the hashtag #minihkstory25A and that our IG account (@hketosg) is being tagged

Prizes
Champion: Two round-trip tickets (economy class) from Singapore to Hong Kong sponsored by Hong Kong Tourism Board
Consolation prizes (a total of 20): Each will get a special souvenir

Assessment Criteria
With a treasure trove of different miniature models at the Hong Kong: Through the Looking Glass miniature exhibition, you will be shuttled into an immersive journey seeing, hearing and feeling various facets of Hong Kong's life, gaining boundless inspirations to curate your special Hong Kong Story (#minihkstory25A).

*Winners will receive a direct message and be tagged by HKETO on IG platform. Please provide your full name, date of birth on NRIC or FIN, contact number and email address, for our further arrangement of prizes.

Regulations
Each person can only submit one entry during the competition. Violation will result in disqualification.

All submissions must be the original work of the participant, and have not been published, sold or submitted in other competitions. Entries must not contain any advertising elements or infringe upon any rights of any third parties, including but not limited to, intellectual property, confidentiality and privacy. Violation will result in disqualification.

All submissions shall not contain any obscene, violent, pornographic, defamatory, indecent or insulting elements or any controversial or inappropriate content, whether implied or expressed. Those who fail to comply will be disqualified.

Any false information submitted by participants or misrepresentations by them as to the copyright of their works will result in disqualification.

All intellectual property rights and copyrights of the submitted entries shall be transferred to HKETO unconditionally without any charges.

HKETO reserves the right to modify, publish, reprint or display any submissions without payment of fees to participants.

The decision of adjudicators in the competition is final. Participants shall raise no dispute.

In case of any disputes, HKETO's decisions shall be final.
