Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble (竹韻小集)
More than 10 members from the Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble (竹韻小集), sponsored by the HKETOSIN, travelled from Hong Kong and performed in the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay to mark the opening of the 6th edition of the Ding Yi Chinese Chamber Music Festival 2024. Hong Kong Film Gala Presentation
We were delighted to support the Hong Kong Film Gala Presentation in Singapore, where local cinephiles were treated to a selection of eight Hong Kong films of different genres screened in Cantonese. Four Hong Kong filmmakers, including directors Anselm Chan, Dickson Leung, Herbert Leung, and screenwriter Anastasia Tsang, attended the opening screening, with nearly 300 movie buffs engaging in a Q&A after watching the opening film "The Last Dance."

Cantonese opera performance (粵劇折子戲寶《百花齊放鑼鼓響》)
The artistry of Cantonese opera was showcased in Singapore through the star-studded programme 《百花齊放鑼鼓響》 sponsored by our office. Led by veteran artiste Michelle Yim, prominent Hong Kong artistes and renowned Cantonese opera performers presented classic excerpts from repertoires of Princess Cheung Ping (帝女花), Legend of the White Snake (白蛇傳), and many more, captivating close to 1,000 audiences.

Destiny The Musical (緣份)
We were thrilled to have supported Destiny The Musical (緣份), produced by Spring-Time Experimental Theatre, which was one of the programmes of the inaugural Hong Kong Culturtainment Festival in Singapore. Featuring two musical talents - Charles Teo and Leanne Jackson from Hong Kong, over 800 audience members enjoyed a medley of 40 classic Cantopop tunes of Hong Kong cultural icons Leslie Cheung and Anita Mui.

CE’s 2024 Policy Address

Asian Youth Orchestra concert
We are pleased to have supported the Asian Youth Orchestra concert at the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay. Awarded the Nikkei Asia Prize for Culture and Community in 2015, the Hong Kong-based orchestra returned to Singapore after an 8-year hiatus with close to 800 audience enjoying classical pieces performed under the baton of principal conductor Joseph Bastian.

Chief Executive’s ASEAN trip
The Chief Executive John Lee led a high-level delegation comprising six senior officials and some 30 business leaders from various sectors to Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. The ASEAN tour was a fruitful one, with a total of 55 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and agreements concluded in three countries.
