Applications are invited for internships at Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore. As one of the three representative offices of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (HKSARG) in the ASEAN region, our mission is to foster the bilateral relations between Hong Kong and three ASEAN countries (Singapore, Vietnam and Laos) and India. The ASEAN and India are among the world’s fastest-growing regions with increasing importance in social, economic and political spheres.
Targeting at Hong Kong students now staying in Singapore, the internship opportunity aims to provide students with wider job exposure and an international perspective in a foreign country. Its objective is to enhance their understanding of the socio-economic conditions of the three ASEAN countries and India covered by the HKETO; cultivate them as "Hong Kong’s ambassadors" to promote the city overseas; and strengthen Hong Kong’s bilateral ties with the ASEAN region and India upon their return to Hong Kong.
Applicants should be a Hong Kong student pursuing higher education at undergraduate level at a Hong Kong tertiary institution and is now staying in Singapore.
They should be a team player with a cheerful personality, be presentable and have excellent language proficiency in both English and Chinese, and are conversant with computer software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as social media. Knowledge in digital marketing and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a plus. They should also possess strong analytical skills and have an interest in public affairs.
Successful applicant (s) will be assigned to support the operation of any team/division of HKETO: Commercial Relations, Public Relations, Investment Promotion, Shipping Registry and Administrative Department. Their duties include but are not limited to the followings:
- Conducting desktop topical researches
- Assisting in the visit programmes of senior officials to Singapore, Laos, Vietnam or India
- Preparation of daily media summaries
- Content management of social media
- Developing of marketing materials and participating in outreach activities
- Assisting in office administration, procurement matters, updating of databases and office upgrading projects
Terms of internship
6-10 weeks (negotiable)
38.75 hours per week (exact hours of work will depend on the actual operational needs)
No honorarium and allowance will be provided
