Hong Kong tertiary students visit HKETO Office

January 7 and 19, 2026

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore was pleased to start the year by continuing our ongoing engagement with tertiary students from Hong Kong, welcoming student groups visiting Singapore as part of their study and career exploration programmes.

Postgraduate students from the University of Hong Kong, majoring in business-related disciplines, participated in a four-day career exploration visit to Singapore. Our Director, Mr Owin Fung, engaged the students in an interactive roundtable discussion, sharing insights about the latest economic and social developments in the region, as well as the opportunities available in ASEAN countries. The exchange provided a valuable platform for open dialogue and knowledge sharing.

Singapore ETO also hosted another two groups of 30 students from Hong Kong Baptist University and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology respectively, where Mr Fung introduced the work of the ETO and shared insights on the socio-economic and geopolitical developments in the four countries under our office’s purview. The sessions concluded with lively Q&A segments, during which students actively raised insightful questions. Mr Fung also encouraged them to participate in and seize opportunities offered under the ASEAN Internship Scheme for Hong Kong Higher Education Students.

We hope that these meaningful exchanges will broaden the students’ global horizons, enrich their academic journeys, deepen their understanding of the region, and equip them with valuable perspectives for their future academic and professional pursuits.
