August 25, 2026

On August 25, Singapore ETO and InvestHK hosted an exclusive session on “Hong Kong – Global Launchpad for Startups” in Singapore to highlight how Hong Kong can provide startups with a strategic base for global growth. The event welcomed more than 40 startup founders, investors and startup ecosystem partners.

Supported by an extensive network of investors, world class professional services and seamless access to the Chinese Mainland and global markets, Hong Kong’s startup community registered a record high in 2025, with 5,221 startups creating almost 20,000 jobs — up around 40% since 2021. Many of these startups are in sectors such as Fintech, Infocomm Technology and Biotechnology.

Speakers at the event included Ms Jayne Chan, Head of StartmeupHK, InvestHK, and Professor Edward Du, Co founder of NUT Limited, who shared how startups can leverage on Hong Kong to conduct R&D, access talent and supply chains, enter the Greater Bay Area and raise capital from a wide spectrum of investors.
