Singapore ETO co-organises Vietnam-China AI and Digital Economy Summit 2026 in Hanoi to deepen cross-border collaboration in technology and innovation

Singapore ETO co-organised the Vietnam–China AI and Digital Economy Summit 2026 with the GBA Entrepreneurs Alliance and Vietnam’s Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology on August 27 in Hanoi, Vietnam. Led by Chairman Dr. Jonathan Choi, the Summit was the highlight of the Alliance’s “Go Global” mission to Vietnam from August 24 to 27, and brought together approximately 200 delegates from government agencies, business associations, investment organisations, universities, research institutes, and technology communities in Vietnam and Chinese Mainland.
Speaking at the Summit, Director Elsa Hung highlighted Hong Kong’s role as a “super connector” and “super value-adder” linking Chinese Mainland, Vietnam, and international markets. Leveraging its strengths in finance, innovation, research, and professional services, Hong Kong can help both Vietnamese and Chinese technology companies commercialise innovation and expand cross-border cooperation. At the Summit, business representatives and experts from Chinese Mainland and Vietnam discussed AI applications in key economic sectors, talent development, R&D, and technology transfer. Participants also exchanged views on the internationalisation of Chinese enterprises, emerging AI applications, and investment opportunities in key sectors in Vietnam.
Five MOUs were exchanged between key players of Vietnam and Hong Kong in the technology sector, laying a strong foundation for deeper collaboration in technology, AI, digital transformation, education and training, investment, and market connectivity between Vietnam and Chinese Mainland via Hong Kong.
