Singapore ETO engages with SUSS students on Hong Kong’s development and global role

August 26, 2026

At the invitation of the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), Director of the Singapore ETO, Ms Elsa Hung, delivered a presentation to students of the Interdisciplinary Global Learning course on August 26.

Describing Hong Kong as “the other Lion City”, she drew attention to Lion Rock as an iconic symbol of Hong Kong, and shared insights into Hong Kong’s unique strengths, the further development of its “Eight Centres”, the Northern Metropolis, Hong Kong’s upcoming first Five-Year Plan, and the role and significance of the work of the HKETO.

Interns at the Singapore ETO also had the valuable opportunity to join and engage in meaningful conversations with SUSS students, exchanging perspectives on Hong Kong and sharing about their internship experience in Singapore. The lively interactions provided a valuable platform for both sides to learn from one another and build connections between the two cities.

In early January next year, students from the course will embark on an experiential learning journey to Hong Kong, gaining first-hand exposure to the city’s governance, social systems and cultural vibrancy. We wish the students a fruitful and inspiring journey ahead!
