Singapore ETO facilitates high-level maritime engagements to promote Hong Kong’s latest maritime and port development initiatives

April 13 - 15, 2026

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore (Singapore ETO) recently conducted high-level engagements with leading maritime companies in Singapore during the visit (April 13-15) of the Commissioner for Maritime and Port Development and Deputy Secretary for Transport and Logistics of the HKSAR Government, Ms Amy Chan, to the city to attend the Argus Green Marine Fuels Asia Conference (Conference) held on April 15.

Accompanied by our Director, Ms Elsa Hung, and the Singapore ETO team including the Regional Head of the Hong Kong Shipping Registry, Mr Norman Ni, Ms Chan met with senior management of leading maritime companies based in Singapore, including the IMC Industrial Group, Winning International Group, Wilmar International Ltd, and DHT Holdings.

The engagements were part of Singapore ETO’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with Singapore’s maritime community and deepen collaboration with international shipping players. Ms Chan shared updates on Hong Kong’s latest maritime developments and upcoming government initiatives, including a proposed half-rate profit tax concession for eligible physical commodity traders and new incentives to support Hong Kong-registered vessels adopting green maritime fuels - both targeted for rollout within this year.

As a panel speaker of the Conference, Ms Chan showcased Hong Kong’s readiness for multi-fuel bunkering. She highlighted Hong Kong’s proactive development of the necessary infrastructure and strengthened linkages with multiple green fuel production sources from different places, as an effort to supporting the maritime sector’s transition towards sustainable, low-carbon operations.
