Event in Celebration of HKSAR 20th anniversary Seminar on Belt and Road Initiative

The Belt and Road Initiative refers to the Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. It is a visionary, long-term initiative launched by the Chinese Government to foster closer economic, political, cultural and social links across Asia to the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

The Seminar, held on May 24, co-organised by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Singapore and the Hong Kong Trade and Development Council in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region this year, highlighted the implications of the Belt and Road Initiative for ASEAN, as well as the opportunities brought about by the Initiative against the tide of protectionism.
