Event in Celebration of HKSAR 20th anniversary Visual art exhibition "Joy to the Words" cum workshops

July 20 - 26, 2017 - Venue: The Arts House, Singapore

In celebration of the 20th anniversary establishment of the HKSAR, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Singapore, in collaboration with Artwow’s Chinese Character Artworks, were proud to present an exhibition featuring selected artworks of the Father-and-Daughter Art Team, Sun and Hikoko Chan’s Mirage, Treble and Rainbow series. The work of Sun and Hikoko can be appreciated purely for their visual appeal, and the embedded words also engage viewers who read Chinese characters, in word-guessing games, with their exotic nature sparking curiosity and evoking imagination.

Example: the hidden Chinese word above in the first right artwork is “山” (mountain).

The Opening Reception, held on July 21, 2017 at The Arts House, Singapore, was warmly welcomed by some 100 HKETO friends from the diplomat, art, media and business circles, as well as Hong Kong communities.

The exhibition, with a strong visual impact, was also a brain teaser game for the guests. Viewers were encouraged to figure out what Chinese words were embedded in the art pieces. Happily, they would be able to find out the answers by scanning the QR codes beside the artworks. Many guests told the HKETO that it was a wonderful visual experience to dwell into the works of the father-and-daughter artist team of the late Mr Sun Chan and his daughter Hikoko.
