Hong Kong artistes Anna Lo and Rick Lau bring acclaimed cabaret LauZone to Singapore

February 27 - 28, 2026

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore (Singapore ETO), together with nearly 200 local supporters, attended the performance of LauZone at the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay on February 28, welcoming the return of Hong Kong artistes Anna Lo (盧宜均) and Rick Lau (劉榮豐) to Singapore since their previous appearance in 2023.

Presented as part of the Huayi - Chinese Festival of Arts 2026 (華藝節 2026), the widely acclaimed multilingual Hong Kong-style cabaret brought together music, theatre and storytelling in a vibrant showcase of Hong Kong’s creativity and cultural diversity. The performances on February 27 and 28 were warmly received by audiences in Singapore, reflecting the strong appreciation for Hong Kong’s performing arts in the region.

The Esplanade performances followed the appearance of the two Hong Kong musicians as guest artistes at the Chinese New Year dinner hosted by Singapore ETO at the Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore on February 25. The dinner gathered over 200 guests from across the Singapore community, including representatives from government, foreign embassies, business associations, academic institutions, cultural organisations and the local Hong Kong community.

At the dinner, Anna Lo and Rick Lau presented a selection from their widely acclaimed Hong Kong cabaret production LauZone. Through songs written in a variety of dialects, the duo portrayed Hong Kong’s unique character as a cultural melting pot, allowing the Singapore audience to find resonance in the stories told. Their lively and engaging performance was warmly received by guests and offered a preview of the full production staged later at the Esplanade.

Following their appearance at the dinner, the duo returned to the stage at the Esplanade for three full performances of LauZone on February 27 and 28 under the Huayi – Chinese Festival of Arts 2026, organised by the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay with support from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC).

After attending the full performance on February 28, Singapore ETO Director Ms Elsa Hung expressed her appreciation to the two talented and dedicated Hong Kong artistes for showcasing Hong Kong’s creativity and soft power — both during the office’s Chinese New Year dinner and through their performances at the Esplanade.

Ms Hung also extended her sincere thanks to the Esplanade, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC), and Ms Sophia Kao for making this meaningful cross-cultural exchange possible.

Singapore ETO will continue to support Hong Kong’s cultural and creative industries by facilitating outbound performances and strengthening collaborations with regional partners, allowing more audiences across Southeast Asia to experience the richness and dynamism of Hong Kong’s arts and culture.
